They say that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Does the saying hold water on this site? Not really. Here, it’s more like “Beauty in the eye of ALL beholders.” BeautifulPeople.com is a site where only beautiful people can be a member . Now, I think I’d need a really big ego to join this site.

This is how BeautifulPeople.com works. You have to submit your picture and the existing members will decide through an online rating system whether you are deemed beautiful enough to be accepted in their quite elitist “exclusive” membership program. It’s kinda like “Hot or Not.com,” except that this one takes itself waaaay too seriously.
Some say it’s superficial (especially the rejected ones), some say they will never give up, others simply don’t care (like me). BeautifulPeople.com is quite a controversial online dating site, and no doubt you’ll find many bruised egos in its wake.
Greg Hodge, the managing director of the site asks: “Is it shallow to want to be with someone you’re attracted to?” I guess not. But still — and again, not that I care — there are people who’d definitely find it elitist, judgmental, subjective, and shallow, most especially by people who wanted to enter this site, but couldn’t. I mean, what a way to get your ego crushed. Greg also mentions that women and men vote differently. Guys vote for pure looks, while women vote according to the over-all picture.
Anyway, if you get rejected, you can always try again. And my only online dating advice to you is to get a very flattering make-over and hire the best photographer (photoshopper?) money can buy..
